応援していただける企業様も募集中です。 【第一号への現地ナイジェリアからの世界への発信と協力依頼】 プレスリリース アフリカ若者犯罪予防イニシアティブ（AYICRIP）、 「希望の車椅子 国際プロジェクト」開始に先立ち、 日本の支援者から車椅子の寄贈を受ける ナイジェリアでの「希望の車椅子 国際プロジェクト」の正式な開始に向けた準備が進む中、アフリカ若者犯罪予防イニシアティブ（AYICRIP）は、日本の尊敬すべきパートナーから車椅子の寄贈を受けたことを発表いたします。 この寄贈は、アフリカ全体で希望を取り戻し、人々の人生を変えることを目的としたこのプロジェクトの重要な一歩となります。 ナイジェリアおよびアフリカ全体では、特に子どもや若者の間に、障がいを持つ人々が多数存在します。障がいは彼らの夢や可能性を実現する希望を制限、あるいは消失させてしまうことがあります。残念ながら、多くの障がい者は非常に貧しい家庭の出身であり、車椅子のような基本的な移動補助具を手に入れることが極めて困難です。 十分な支援と資源がないままでは、教育、雇用、社会的包摂への機会が著しく制限されます。 この重要なニーズに応えるため、「希望の車椅子 国際プロジェクト」は、障がいを持つ人々に車椅子とサポートを提供することを目的として設立されました。 このプロジェクトは、移動の自由、自立、尊厳の回復を目指しており、障がいを持つ人々が自信を取り戻し、人生の目標に向かって進むことを支援します。身体的な障壁を乗り越え、より良い未来を築くための力を与える、希望に満ちた取り組みです。 「希望の車椅子 国際プロジェクト」は、人道的支援を目的とし、ナイジェリアおよびアフリカの身体障がいを持つ人々に、車椅子などの移動補助具を提供します。このプロジェクトは、障がいを乗り越え、自立し、夢を持って生きることを可能にすることを目指しています。 このプロジェクトは、以下の日本の主要な団体および個人と連携して実施されます： • 一般社団法人スマイルアゲイン代表・櫛田美知子氏 • ホイールワークス・ジャパン代表・伊藤誠史氏 • Taiyointernational財団会長・伊藤政則氏 • NELIS Global共同設立者・ピーター・デヴィッド・ペダーセン氏 また、国連支援交流協会の支援を受けながら、身体障がいを持つ子ども、ティーンエイジャー、若者を対象とし、1年以内にアフリカ全体で最低100台の車椅子を寄贈するという野心的な目標に向けて進んでいます。AYICRIPは、志を同じくする個人、企業、国際機関にこの目標への協力を呼びかけています。 車椅子寄贈の式典では、日本側代表として伊藤政則氏および相良優子氏が登壇し、創設者・事務局長であるクリス・C・イベ大使のアフリカでの人道的課題に対する尽力に深い感謝を表しました。 伊藤氏は、日本のこのプロジェクトへの継続的な支援を約束し、櫛田美知子氏を「希望の象徴」として紹介。彼女は車椅子ユーザーでありながら、3人の子どもを育て、夢を諦めることなく生きてこられた実例として、障がいを持つ人々への希望を体現していると述べました。 また伊藤氏は、「今回の寄贈は1台からのスタートですが、今後さらに多くの寄贈が続くことを象徴しています」と述べ、希望と継続的支援のメッセージを強調しました。 AYICRIPでは、車椅子の分配に先立ち、学校長、地域のリーダー、関係者と連携し、支援を本当に必要とする人々を特定するためのデータベース作成を進めています。 これは単なる寄贈ではなく、「希望」「エンパワーメント」「包摂」への運動です。AYICRIPは、 mobility（移動）に課題を持つ人々へ希望を届けるため、世界中からの支援と連携、協力を歓迎します。 クリス・C・イベ大使は、伊藤氏および日本の皆さまに対し、このプロジェクトを支援し、共に歩んでくれていることへの感謝を述べ、「車椅子は、公平かつ必要性の高い受益者に対してのみ分配する」と誓いました。 （第一号車椅子） • Ayicrip-NELIS FA • UNODC Nigeria • Taiyo International 財団 • United Nations Nigeria • NELIS Global • 伊藤誠史氏（Masahito Ito） • 櫛田美知子氏（Michiko Kushida） • 相良優子氏（Yuuko Sagara） • ピーター・ペダーセン氏（Peter David Pedersen） ほか多数 Ibe Chris Chidi African Youths Initiative on Crime Prevention Executive Director Press Release African Youths on Crime Prevention, AYICRIP, Receives Wheelchair Donation Ahead of “Wheels of Hope International Project” Launch. As preparations continue for the official launch of the Wheels of Hope International Project in Nigeria, African Youths Initiative on Crime Prevention (AYICRIP) is proud to announce the receipt of a donation of wheelchairs from its esteemed Japanese partners. This donation marks a significant milestone in the lead-up to the launch of a project aimed at restoring hope and transforming lives across Africa. Nigeria and Africa, in general, have a high number of people living with disabilities, especially among children and youths. Disabilities often limit or even erase their hopes of achieving their dreams and fulfilling their potential. Sadly, many of these individuals come from very low-income backgrounds, which make it extremely difficult for them to access essential mobility aids like wheelchairs. Without proper support and resources, their opportunities for education, employment, and social inclusion are severely restricted. Recognizing this critical need, the Wheel of Hope International Project was established to provide wheelchairs and support to people with disabilities in these communities. This project aims to restore mobility, independence, and dignity, helping individuals regain confidence and pursue their life goals. By addressing this gap, the initiative brings hope to many, empowering them to overcome physical barriers and build a better future despite their challenges. The Wheels of Hope International Project is a humanitarian initiative dedicated to supporting physically challenged Nigerians and Africans by providing them with mobility aids such as wheelchairs. The project is designed to help individuals living with physical disabilities live beyond the limitations of their conditions, empowering them to be mobile, independent, and pursue their aspirations with dignity. The initiative is being launched in partnership with several key Japanese organizations and individuals, including Ms. Michiko Kushida, Founder of the Smiles Again Project; Mr. Masahito Ito, Representative of Wheel Works Japan, Masarino Ito, Chairman of Taiyo Foundation, Japan and PeterDavidPedersen, Founder and Co-Director, NELIS Global. Their contributions and unwavering support have played a crucial role in bringing this vision closer to reality. Supported by the Foundations for the Support of the United Nations, the project focuses on children, teenagers, and youth living with physical disabilities. With an ambitious goal of donating at least 100 wheelchairs across Africa within the first one year, AYICRIP calls on well-meaning individuals, corporate bodies, and international organizations to join hands in achieving this goal. Through collective efforts, the project aims to address one of the greatest social and humanitarian challenges of our time mobility and access for people living with disabilities. Presenting the wheelchair on behalf of other Japanese partners, Masarino Ito and Yuuko Sagara expressed deep gratitude to Ambassador Chris C. Ibe, founder and Executive Director, for his dedication to tackling humanitarian challenges in Africa. Ito-san reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting the project, highlighting Ms. Michiko Kushida as an inspiring example. As a wheelchair user and champion, she has successfully raised her children without limitations, demonstrating that one can achieve their dreams despite physical challenges. Ito emphasized that while the donation starts with one wheelchair, many more will follow in the future, symbolizing hope and continued support. In preparation for the distribution of the wheelchairs, AYICRIP is reaching out to heads of schools, community leaders, and other stakeholders to help identify individuals in genuine need. By creating a database of deserving beneficiaries, the project seeks to ensure that wheelchairs are delivered to those who need them the most. This is not just a donation; it is a movement of hope, empowerment, and inclusion. AYICRIP welcomes support, partnership, and collaboration from around the world to bring hope to those who have been limited by mobility challenges. Amb.
